Discover the wonders of Etosha National Park on a 3-day/2-night group tour, starting in Windhoek and ending in Swakopmund. Immerse yourself in wildlife encounters, spotting the Big 4 and over 340 bird species, as you explore the park’s unique landscape, centered around the vast Etosha Pan. The journey includes a scenic drive through Damaraland and a visit to the Skeleton Coast, offering a blend of cultural experiences and breathtaking natural beauty.
This 3 day/2night group tour to Etosha National Park starts in Windhoek every Tuesday and ends Thursday afternoons in Swakopmund. You will spend 1 full day and 1 half day game driving through Etosha National Park, one of Southern Africas’ best national parks, searching for predators & prey alike. Etosha is home to more than 114 mammal species (including the big 4 – lion, leopard, rhino & elephant) as well as more than 340 species of bird. Etosha’s most unique quality is it’s lack of permanent water which draws all species to the man-made waterholes and offers the chance to observe multiple species together at once.
Etosha National Park stretches approximately 22,000 sq kms and named after the famed Etosha Pan which means ‘great white place’ in the local Oshindonga language. The pan itself is so immense it can be seen from space. Enjoy the chance to get out of the truck and take a walk on the pan, capturing photos from all sorts of perspectives, and the chance to stretch the legs.
Upon leaving Etosha, enjoy a scenic drive through Damaraland, stopping along the way to meet the local people and bargain for some souvenirs with the Himba people before reaching Namibia’s infamous Skeleton Coast and checking out the Zeila shipwreck, the latest addition to the ship graveyard.
Why join a group tour?
Group tours are ideal for solo travellers, or those looking to get the most bank for their buck. Don’t sit around waiting for a travel buddy, book your flights and your seat and enjoy a holiday on your own. While couples, friends and families are also welcome, these tours are a great chance to meet fellow travellers. Looking to get as much from your $ as possible, opt for a ‘willing to share’ option. This accommodated safari is priced on a twin share basis so by being ‘willing to share’ means you will not be charged any single supplement for travelling alone. You will then be matched with another traveller of the same gender to share your room. However if you prefer your own room then let us know and a nominal single supplement will be added to guarantee you your own room each night.

Highlights
Day-by-Day Itinerary
You will be collected from your accommodation in Windhoek at 07:15 and head to your departure point for the pre-departure talk and to meet the rest of the group. After departure from Windhoek at 08:00, a brief stop in Otjiwarongo will allow you to get some last minute supplies and enjoy a light lunch pack to have on the road as you travel to Etosha, entering through the Anderson Gate. Arrival is late in the afternoon where you will proceed on to a game drive through the park spotting wildlife and visiting various waterholes. Just before sunset, you will arrive at the lodge where you can settle into your room with en-suite bathroom and tea/coffee facilities before enjoying a great Namibian dinner prepared by your guide over an open fire. Recommended is a visit to view the floodlit waterhole whilst your guide prepares your meal or after dinner, though an early night is advised. Rhino sightings are often recorded at this time.

After having a picnic lunch, we visit the Etosha Pan before continuing on our game drive to look for the big four. We arrive back at Okaukuejo late afternoon where you can have a swim or relax by the waterhole and leave the park prior to sunset, visiting one last waterhole and in time to see another African sunset. Accommodation is twin share permanent tents with en-suite bathroom facilities located just outside the park. Dinner is prepared by your guide over the campfire where you can compare photos and stories of the animals seen today and another early night is recommended.

Today signals the end of our journey. We will head to Swakopmund after enjoying an early morning breakfast with departure from the lodge being at 07:30. A light roadside lunch is served en-route in the shadow of Namibia’s tallest mountain, the Brandberg, and we can interact with some of the colourful local characters who live in this harsh environment. On the drive down the Skeleton Coast we explore the remains of a small shipwreck before arriving in Swakopmund mid-afternoon. You will be dropped at the accommodation of your choice by the guide.
