Discover our Windhoek City Tour!

This comprehensive 3-4 hour tour gives the visitor an overview of the historical sites in the Windhoek centre as well as an overview of the Katutura township where the majority of the city’s residents live. Whilst on the tour, you can look forward to going to see places like the House of Parliament-National Assembly, Parliament Gardens, Old railway station, the Craft Centre, Christuskirche and Alte Feste (Old Fort).

From the city centre, we head towards the Katutura Township. Here we will see a glimpse of life in Windhoek’s largest suburb. Boasting of people from a number of different cultural groups, Katutura is the place to be if you want to mix with the lively different cultures of Namibia. Here we will visit the “Single Quarters”, a local market where you can enjoy a taste of the Namibian specialty – Kapana, which is Namibian beef cooked by the local vendors. Also included is a stop at a local community empowerment project.

This is a must-do experience for any visitor of Windhoek looking for an adventure.

After our Windhoek city tour we will be dropped back at our accommodation.

For those with more time, consider exploring more of Namibia with add-ons to must see destinations such as Sossusvlei or Etosha National Park.

Our guide took us on a very insigthful journey around the city of Windhoek, which gave us an opportunity to discover those places we would like to visit with more time. Then we went out to the Townships and discovered how they developed and the early strides being made to improve conditions there. One of the highlights was a stop at one of the local markets in the Township, where we pushased some ingredients for a typical Namidian lunch.
We learnt about the short history of Namidia as an indelendent country, from the very early beginnings as the first settlers arrived, through conflict and ultimately independence. September 2022

The tour included the main objectives as others, but what really made all the difference was the guide, Petrus. He was super well informed, passionate about culture and history, knew and presented facts from different points of view. Visit to township was fantastic as he also was one of the locals, so was really easy to get ‘on the inside’ of the place.
Highly recommended, especially with Petrus as guide!

Peter picked me up on time for my Windhoek city tour. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Germans and South Africans in Namibia. He made sure to stand us in the shade. We saw the contrast between the old town and the shanty town. We had BBQ beef with a deep fried bread roll and salad for lunch at a co-operative market. You can him any question and he had an answer.
